Female Suspect On Loose After Westchester Armed Home Invasion

Police are searching for a woman who unlawfully entered an occupied residence in Northern Westchester in broad daylight with what appeared to be a firearm and stole property.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at a home on Pond Hill Road in Chappaqua, New Castle Police said.

The area surrounding the residence was thoroughly searched by officers from the New Castle Police Department, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and the Town of Mount Pleasant Police Department. 

"We have no reason to believe the suspect is still in the area or a threat to our residents," New Castle Police said late Wednesday afternoon.

This is an ongoing investigation and only limited information will be released at this time.

The New Castle Police Department also reminds the public to lock and secure all doors and windows on homes, apartments, and vehicles as well as keep a patio or porch light illuminated or on a motion sensor during nighttime hours.
